Standard plywood sheets come in 8×4 feet (2440×1220mm). Thickness ranges from 4mm to 25mm depending on the grade and application. Commercial plywood is available in 4mm, 6mm, 9mm, 12mm, and 19mm. Marine plywood comes in 6mm, 12mm, 16mm, 19mm, and 25mm.

HPL (High Pressure Laminates) are manufactured under higher pressure (1000+ PSI) and are thicker (0.8mm–1.5mm). They are more durable, heat-resistant, and scratch-resistant than regular laminates. Regular decorative laminates (0.6mm–0.8mm) are suitable for most furniture applications where extreme durability isn't required.

Matt and textured finishes are best for kitchens because they hide fingerprints and minor scratches. Anti-fingerprint laminates from Merino and Greenlam are specifically designed for kitchen use. Glossy finishes look stunning but require more cleaning.

HDHMR (High Density High Moisture Resistance) board is a premium engineered board made from compressed wood fibres. It offers excellent moisture resistance, termite-proof properties, and a smooth surface ideal for CNC routing and painting. Use it for modular kitchens, wardrobes, and furniture where moisture exposure is a concern.

HDHMR is the densest, most moisture-resistant, and most expensive — best for kitchens. MDF has a smooth surface suitable for painting and CNC work but is less moisture-resistant. Particle board is the most affordable option, suitable for dry-area furniture like bedroom wardrobes and office desks.
